Hello

My name is Anna Schultz. I am an educator with a Master’s degree in Pedagogy, a piano teacher, author of the Music & Piano Camp Curriculum and the founder of the Montessori Wooden Music Board.®

For more than 10 years I have been running my own music studio, working with young students and discovering creative ways to make music learning joyful, clear, and inspiring.

In addition to teaching, I enjoy sharing my ideas with the wider music education community. I was a presenter at the Washington State Music Teachers Association Conference in June 2025, and this year I will be having my educational materials at the MTNA 2026 Chicago Exhibit Hall, where teachers can explore, try and use the products before they decide to take it to their studio.

My work focuses on making music education visual, interactive, and joyful while giving teachers practical tools that make teaching easier and more effective.

My Story

A few years ago, while organizing a music camp for my youngest students, I discovered the Montessori philosophy of learning. I was immediately inspired by the idea that children learn best when they can see, touch, and explore concepts with their hands.

This inspiration led me to create the Montessori Wooden Music Board — a hands-on teaching tool that helps children clearly understand how notes work on the staff. When I began using it with my own students, the results were remarkable. Even very young children were able to recognize and understand notes on the staff incredibly quickly — sometimes in just one lesson.

Seeing the excitement and confidence it brought to my students filled me with so much joy that I knew I wanted to share it with other teachers. Today, the Montessori Wooden Music Board has grown into a trademarked educational product used and loved by teachers and students around the world.

Alongside this tool, I also developed the Music & Piano Camp Curriculum, a step-by-step program that helps teachers run engaging piano and music camps filled with creativity, games, and meaningful musical learning.

Teaching music is not only about notes and technique — it is about inspiring children, supporting fellow teachers, and creating moments of joy through music. I feel grateful every day to share this journey with a wonderful community of passionate educators.
